The glycerin or silicone fill damps needle oscillation caused by pump vibration, compressor pulsation or hydraulic pressure spikes, making readings clear and protecting the movement from fatigue. Fill choice should be reviewed by temperature and medium compatibility.
Pump and compressor discharge lines, hydraulic power units, reciprocating engine manifolds, HVAC water systems, irrigation skids and any service with continuous vibration or fluctuating pressure.
The main benefit is damping pointer vibration so readings are easier to see and the movement is better protected in vibration or pulsation service.
They can be used in many outdoor applications, but case material, seal, fill fluid and temperature range must be confirmed for the site conditions.
